How to use BrainDrop

Capture a drop

Open the app on the Capture tab. Either type in the box and hit the down-arrow to save, or tap the microphone and just say it. BrainDrop will transcribe what you say and detect any times or dates in your sentence.

Examples that work:

See what's on today

Swipe right or tap the Today tab. Drops with a specific time show up first, sorted by time. Tap the circle to tick something off.

Plan the week

Swipe right again or tap the Week tab. You'll see every day of the current week. Tap a day to expand it and see the tasks for that day. Today is highlighted in blue and expanded by default.

Open a drop's details

Tap the text of any drop in Today or Week to open its details. You can see when it's scheduled, when you captured it, and tap "Mark as done" or "Delete".

Reminders

If you scheduled a drop for a specific time, BrainDrop will send a local notification at that time. If you scheduled it for a specific day (no time), it will ping you at 9am that morning. The first time you create a scheduled drop, your phone will ask for notification permission. Tap Allow — without it, the reminders can't fire.

Common questions

Why don't I have a notification permission prompt?

You may have dismissed it the first time, or set up the app before adding a scheduled drop. Go to your phone's Settings → Notifications → BrainDrop and turn on Allow Notifications.

Will BrainDrop sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Not yet. BrainDrop is currently local-only — everything lives on the device you installed it on. Multi-device sync is planned for a future update.

Can I edit a drop after I save it?

Not in the current version. The friction-free workaround is: open the drop, tap Delete, then drop a new one with the corrected wording. We're considering an inline edit in a future release.

What if voice mode doesn't work?

Make sure you've granted microphone permission in Settings → BrainDrop → Microphone. If it still doesn't transcribe, the issue may be your phone's speech recognition — try the Voice Memos app to confirm the mic itself works.

Is BrainDrop free?

Yes. A one-off "Pro" unlock for unlimited capture is planned for a future update — no subscriptions, ever.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone, in a local database. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete all my data?

Uninstall the app. All BrainDrop data is removed with it.
